I have more than 170 optics publications that can be found on my publications page. Articles are searchable by topic or other criteria.
My recent projects are related to optical design of microscopes and telescopes, writing analysis routines for clients in multiple languages such as Python and Matlab, and looking at problems of specifying surface errors in freeform surfaces.
One ongoing optical metrology research has focused on PSD (power spectral density) analysis of interferometric surface data.
The reason for this work is there hasn't been an agreed upon method for determining PSD and thus a surface analyzed with one method may pass whereas the same surface analyzed with a different method will fail.
Please see the articles below. The first one compares 6 different methods of determining PSD.
The second focuses more specificially on circularly symmetric surfaces. I am looking into other means of determining band-limited surface roughness.
